Curriculum Vision

At Ardross Primary School we Plan, Teach, Assess and Report using the Western Australian Curriculum for all subject areas.

It sets out the mandated curriculum, guiding principles for teaching, learning and assessment, and support for teachers in their assessment and reporting of student achievement.

PLAN

Teachers work as individuals, and as members of a collaborative team to develop engaging and relevant learning programmes to deliver the content and skills outlined in the Western Australian Curriculum. This includes esnuring that the General Capabilities and the Cross-Curriculum Priorities are explictly addressed.

Teachers utilise evidence-based approaches consistently across the school to enhance practice and student outcomes.

TEACH

Teachers deliver learning programmes that use strategies and planning processes designed to motivate, educate and celebrate student learning.

Learning programmes and teaching strategies promote the development of higher order thinking skills.

ASSESS

Teachers ensure that assessment practices are linked to teaching and learning, educative, fair, purposeful and informative.

Student achievement is measured against the the Year Level Achievement Standards.

REPORT

Students receive quality, timely feedback on their progress and achievement through a variety of age-appropriate strategies.

Reporting to parents will include Semester Reports and both formal and informal parent/teacher meetings.
